Are you watching?

olympics

Since they Olympics have been on our TV has been on and we have been watching! I admire all of these athletes, the hard work and practice they put into their sport and the passion they have to pursue their dreams.

We have been talking to our kids about following their dreams,  working hard and having determination with that they can do what ever they desire.  Hopefully we  placed a little seed, personally I think they are on the road to a career in diving (shhh… don’t tell the hotel) ha ha!

911.....

As I was in my room picking stuff up I hear, "yes fireman, there is a fire on my track. Yes I am a conductor (train conductor that is). I am four years old, yes there really is a fire."
Knowing that we don't have a home phone and my cell phone in my pocket I am not to concerned so I keep listening. He proceeds to tell the "fireman" that he was driving the train and the fire is in front of him and repeats himself several times. Finally ending with, "can I tell you something funny?" He starts to sing Pants on the Ground from the American Idol contestant. Oh, the imagination of a 4 year old!

Picture is from our recent trip to St. George (fitting huh?)

the MaN knows what he wants!!

No, not my husband!! ha ha... My four year old. I should back up a little, I am totally guilty for letting my youngest fall asleep in my bed, my older son's room, frankly anywhere I can get him to hold still for more than a second and when that happens he is usually out like a light. So last night I had put him in with his brother to watch a movie. I went to check in 20 minutes later and he tells me that he doesn't want to sleep in there so I told him he could come and lay in my bed and I would tickle his back, he was in. So we get situated and I start tickling within second he says to me FiRsT you tickle my back, then my belly and then my face. He is a MaN who knows what he wants!!! I was happy to ablidge, he is my bAbY after all;)

2/22: "the BEST day ever!!"

These are not my words but the words out of my 11 yr. old mouth as we sat down to dinner at our FavOriTe Chinese restaurant. Yesterday I proposed that Mr. W and I go on a date. The spark in his eye and a giant smile I knew this was something he was excited about. He has been telling me that he wants to go see Percy Jones and the Olympians and I figured sure it seemed like a better choice than the Tooth F*iry.. I think I was right about that too;) So we started off our big date with the Movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed, we decided we are going to read the rest of the books together as well. Then we headed to dinner. He couldn't stop talking about the movie vs. the book, how much he enjoyed it and cool scenes from the show. I just listened and smiled. This boy that wouldn't stop chatting was so different from the boy at my house. He is typically quite and kept to himself. I relished in all of his words. After his bold statement I asked him what makes a great day, he started off with school. They got a whole hour of free computer time today, no 3rd graders at recess today, the movie and last... I get to go to dinner with JUST you! I started to tear up ( I am emotional ok). I feel like since Payne has come along the time I had with him just disappeared and it makes me sad, not to mention I have to share him with his dad. My kids needs are always first and for most but I realize it is not just stuff they need but my time. I have announced that we will have date night every other month with each of our boys and I think everyone is excited. I really got to share a great night with the first loVe of my life! So to him, I would agree this is one of my bEst day's ever as well. I LOVE YOU!!

MoRE PleAse...

A weeks ago I tried a new recipe for Chicken Pot Pie that my friend posted on her blog. I was hesitant at first because I am the cook to a very pIcKY group. I finally purchased all of the required ingrediants and started cooking. A small serving for everyone to start out but in no time everyone was asking for MoRE PLEASE!!! This recipe says six servings but I will add another half to the receipe when I make it again. It was eAsY and Delicious!!! So check it out here!!

The only thing I did different is, I boiled the chicken in the remaining chicken broth, added a chicken bullion cube and water for 15ish minutes and shredded. Oh yeah, I didn't add thyme either because that was not in our spice cupbord. I think that the Paprika makes it so dont skip that either, I will stop now and go try it for your self!!!

a cHaNge of Title

Recently I have been laid off my job, I know in my heart this is not the end of the world or the worst thing that could happen. But I have been struggling with the change. I have mixed emotions about all of it. I want to be willing to accept change. However that is not my strong suit!
BUT.....I have found a handsome young man to assist full time, he has high demands and expectations. I am excited for the challenge. I am constantly being summoned to aid him after he has made an executive decision that has not turned out so well. He is in constant need for me. He is also a lot of FuN but the minute you do something wrong he is not shy to let you know. I am sure this will be a great experience for the both of us and hopefully he will give me a great reference for my resume. So for now I have officially cHaNgeD my title to
